SPAC wants to give back to its community.
Our Future Site...
Here at SPAC, we have spent the last 3 years renovating and preparing our primary studio. This enormous project will take years to complete, but this property is our primary location. We currently have an 8,000 sqft, 3 story building, with plans for several other buildings/studios/kilns to be built. This is the heart of our Community Art Studio!
Youth Reach...
In our ultimate pursuit of accessibility-for-all, we focus a great deal of our efforts on youth classes, programming, and outlets. As we begin to grow into the organization we wish to become, our commitment to the residents of this area is: to become more and more affordable, to offer more and more programming, and to build a creative space in which children, tweens, and teens can develop into creative thinkers and world problem solvers. Our affordable classes will continue to become more and more affordable, with an ultimate goal of fund raising, grant acquisition and donations leading to them becoming free!
Senior Outreach...
SPAC has a great deal of experience with outreach and with working with certain demographics within the community. We feel the need to be more proactive about offering discounted or free classes to seniors living in the area. Many seniors visit senior centers, nursing homes, and living facilities. These are the very organizations that we are committing ourselves to partnering with to offer these types of classes and events. We will welcome classes at our studios, as well as travel to these locations to offer classes there.
Donations...
While SPAC does frequently donate to businesses/organizations and also participates in empty bowls events, we also plan on donating a portion of our proceeds to charities in need. Coming in 2025, with each purchase of an item from our online catalog, folks will have a selection of 10 charities to choose from. 1% of the sale of every purchase will be donated to that organization. Along with this donation, an additional 1% donation will be made to the Adams County Arts Council.
Artistic Expression...
SPAC thrives to incorporate artistic creativity into its community. We feel that, along with other creative businesses and organizations in Gettysburg, art is an incredibly important topic to bring to the hands of all individuals. Our commitment is steeped in our sense of community building. Art and creativity help to enrich one's everyday life. With the trials and tribulations of everyday life having such a profound effect on members of our community, artistic and creative release should be more accessible now than ever before.
Travel-to-You...
Travel can be difficult for anyone. We certainly do not want travel restrictions to inhibit the possibility of creativity. Because of this, and because of the fact our permanent location is only 1.7 miles from downtown Gettysburg, we plan to offer a shuttle service to and from our organization! This is many years away, but we cannot help but to share our vision!
