This class occurs over a 5 day time period, meeting once per day for 5 days in a row. Your child will receive clay, tools, and instruction from a SPAC instructor! The instructor leads the class through the creation/construction of several ceramic objects throughout the duration of your 5 day class.
There will be 4 classes dedicated to wet clay work and the making of clay items, and 1 class dedicated to the glazing and decorating of those items. Your children will learn to make cups, bowls, and handles! They will also learn cleanup and decoration techniques for their creations!
We handle the various drying and firing stages of their items and then notify you when they are ready to be picked up! Your ceramic pieces typically take 1-3 weeks to become dry and fired!

Please note that in order to work on the potter’s wheel, you need to have your fingernails clipped! Having fingernails any longer than 1/8" makes the process incredibly difficult. If, in taking this class, you wish to experience making the pieces yourself, we suggest clipping your nails. If you do show up for class with long fingernails, we will make it work!
If you have any questions, please reach out to owner Corey Shultz at 301.606.2436 or by email at corey@southernpaclay.com.
