Hello! Southern PA Clay welcomes you to join our Children's Classes!
Below is some information about this upcoming course.
 
CLASS DATE & TIME : Sundays in July, July 6,13,20,27 2:00PM-4:00PM
 
This class occurs over a 4 week time period, meeting once per week for the entire month. Your child will receive clay, tools, and instruction from a SPAC instructor! The instructor leads the class through the creation/construction of several ceramic objects throughout the duration of your 4 week class.
 
There will be 3 classes dedicated to wet clay work and the making of clay items, and 1 class dedicated to the discussion and the glazing of those items. Your children will learn to make cups, bowls, and handles! They will also learn cleanup and decoration techniques for their creations! You can expect 5-10 finished items to keep. SPAC fires the finished projects after you glaze them in the final class, and then notifies you when they are ready to be picked up!
 
$120.00 Per Seat, (Maximum of 8 Seats)
 
Class Schedule (2 Hours per class):
 
Class 1 - July 6, 2:00PM-4:00PM
15 Minute Meet-&-Greet + 1 Hour 45 Minutes Class (cups)
 
Class 2 - July 13, 2:00PM-4:00PM
2 Hour Class (clay work) + 15 Minute Cleanup (bowls)
 
Class 3 - July 20, 2:00PM-4:00PM
2 Hour Class (clay work) + 15 Minute Cleanup (handles, decoration)
 
Class 4 - July 27, 2:00PM-4:00PM
2 Hour Class (glaze work) + 15 Minute Cleanup (decorating and glazing)
 
All Materials and Firings Included!
 
**The Instructor reserves the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment. If the class has low enrollment, there is a possibility of it being canceled.**
 
**Please note that in order to work on the potter’s wheel, you need to have your fingernails clipped. Having fingernails any longer than 1/8" makes the process quite difficult. If, in taking this class, your child wishes to experience making the piece themselves, we suggest clipping those nails!
