Hello! Southern Pennsylvania Clay welcomes you to join our 7-Week Adult Classes! Below is some information about this upcoming course.
 
CLASS DATE & TIME : 
Tuesday Evenings in July & August, 2026, 6:00PM-8:30PM
 
This class occurs over a 7 week time period, meeting once per week for the entire 7 week duration. You will receive clay, tools, and instruction from a Southern PA Clay instructor! The instructor leads the class through the creation and construction of several ceramic objects throughout the duration of your 7 week class. Typically, there are 10-20  items made throughout the course. This, of course, varies based on experience, outside practice time, interest, and commitment!
 
There will be 5 classes dedicated to wet clay work and the making of clay items, and 2 classes dedicated to the discussion and the glazing of those items. You will learn to make cups, handles for your cups, vases, and bowls! You will also learn cleanup and decoration techniques for your creations! SPAC fires the finished projects after you glaze them in the final class, and then notifies you when they are ready to be picked up!

Class 4 - July 28, 6:00PM-8:30PM
2 Hour 30 Minute Class + 10 Minute Cleanup (pottery cleanup and handles)
 
Class 5 - August 4, 6:00PM-8:30PM
2 Hour 30 Minute Class + 10 Minute Cleanup (bowls)
 
Class 6 - August 11, 6:00PM-8:30PM
2 Hour 30 Minute Class + 10 Minute Cleanup (trimming bowls)
 
Class 7 - August 18, 6:00PM-8:30PM
2 Hour 30 Minute Class + 10 Minute Cleanup (decorating & glazing)

Full 7-Week Adult Classes come with open studio time! During the 7 weeks, you are allowed to practice outside of class time, in the studio, for up to 4 hours per week. These sessions have to fall between 12PM and 8PM.
 
The Instructor reserves the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment! If the class has low enrollment, there is a possibility of it being canceled.
 
Please note that in order to work on the potter’s wheel, you need to have your fingernails clipped! Having fingernails any longer than 1/8" makes the process incredibly difficult. If, in taking this class, you wish to experience making the pieces yourself, we suggest clipping your nails. If you do show up for class with long fingernails, we will make it work!
